@jason yup. where did you find it to buy? if you buy one the install takes a while and is critical on measurements. lemme know and I will share photos and advice on what I learned. On the other hand this rack is pretty much bomber. I was up on the roof of my little guy installing a rear view camera and sat on my bars - nothing moved.
@davidreidok I found it on hauler rack's website. I am going to order it. Could you give me tips on how to install. The manual isn't that specific about the mounting points. Are there "studs" I can anchor the bolts to? Do you know if it's just plywood under the teardrops shell? Thanks@!
no studs.
the rack mount bolts to the side of the little guy 5 wide. You drill a small hole then a larger one that a cylinder goes thru then the bolts to secure the rack mount. It is very secure. The problem is measuring the location of the holes. It is very easy (I did it) to measure on the outside of the little guy which puts the rear toward the hatch holes behind the face of the cabinets. Be careful.
I had the original instruction sheets stashed away get me a email address and I will hopefully find the sheets and email you a pdf. Instructions should be included with the rack.
It is a pain to install these racks. I am a yakima long time fan but these racks are much stronger than the yakimas I have used.
Jason, I am sorry. I went back and enlarged your photo so I could see the upright part of the rack clearly.
It looks like this rack is designed to clamp on to a drip rail. Far as I know the little guy 5 wide models do not have a drip channel.
My mounts bolt directly to the sides of the little guy 5 wide. They may well have discontinued the model I have. May be worth while to ask the supplier if they have a set of the old model side bolt mounts.
Jason please see if you can open the attached jpg
it is the first page of the prorac instructions
note the top diagram showing my prorac bolted to the sides of the little guy 5 wide
@davidreidoc
can you email the instruction for the rack as well
thanks
