The lock on the storage 'box' on my 2019 Mini kept staying in the lock position and it would NOT unlock. Ordered a new lock and had it installed by a locksmith (since local dealer would not service since the trailer wasn't purchased from them) and the new one also is locked. The key does not unlock and wondering if anyone else has had this problem and what you did to fix the problem once and for all. The only way to unlock the 'box' is to pull up the bed and get at it from the inside - this is not an option!
Hey Susan, just an observation, but it would seem to me that it is now the responsibility of the locksmith who installed the new lock to make sure it works. I have a LG Max, so I'm not aware of this problem, but I also replaced my entire front box. The lock was terrible and the plastic was warping.
Thanks for the advice. I'm still thinking there's a problem with the actual mechanism since the exact same problem has come up twice with 2 different 'locks'.
