Hi. What do others get for mileage on the interstate? I pull behind an SUV that has no problem other than what I thought was poor mileage
I'm pulling a LGM with a Ford F150 and get 8 - 10 tops.
@texaslgmax We pull a Mini Max with a Nissan Frontier V6 and average 10-11. I suspect that the huge AC unit causes a lot of extra drag. Wish they had installed a low profile unit like so many higher end manufacturers do but it would be cost prohibitive to do a switch.
We were also disappointed in our fuel mileage towing with a Chevrolet Colorado, even after decreasing our highway speeds. We opted to remove the AC unit and replace it with a roof vent. We also switched the tires from the aggressive tread, over-size 6-plys that came with the Rough Rider package to ones that are slightly narrower, highway tread, and 10-ply. These changes together improved the mileage from 10 to 14.
We originally towed our LGMM with a 2016 4Runner, got about 10-11mpg. Switching to a 2018 Sequoia, our mileage improved slightly to 11-12, probably due to two factors: (1) Sequoia's much stronger engine, wasn't working very hard pulling a Mini Max and (2) a bit less drag - the Sequoia's frontal area has better coefficient of drag than the 4Runner and Sequoia's much larger frontal area meant less frontal area of the MM exposed.
Anyone pulling with a Jeep Gladiator? mileage with a mini-max?
