Only pulling close to 2,000 pounds with six speed, V6 Xterra, in the Northwest. I do have to shift down once on the hills. If I'm poking along on steeper grade, probably shift again, and especially so if the road isn't the best, of course. But it does well. It did make a difference to go from a regular Five Wide to a Five Wide Rough Rider due to the added weight. It weighs that much with water tank, tool box, cooler full of ice, spare tire, propane tank, etc.
